Over 64 million rupees approved for electricity and business areas

LAHORE: The board of directors of the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company approved the release of 55 million rupees to Fesco for the construction of a 132 KV grid station in the Bhalwal industrial zone and Rs 9.6 million to Lesco for the power connection in Chunian Water Activity Park.

The approval was given at the 152nd meeting of the PIEDMC Board of Directors chaired by the President of PIEDMC, Syed Nabil Hashmi. The Board expressed satisfaction with the performance of PIED ™ over the past year.

On the recommendations of the purchasing committee, the board of directors also approved 5.4 million rupees for the consultancy services of the disposal stations in the industrial zones of Vehari and Rahimyar Khan, 30 million rupees for the consultancy in transaction of the industrial zone of Muzaffargarh, the renewal of the contracts of transport service and medical insurance for Personnel. The assembly approved the minutes of the 151st meeting of the board of directors.

He was informed that PIEDMC has earned 12 billion rupees from QABP, Rahimyar Khan, Vehari and Bhalwal industrial zones, has started the development works of Quaid-e-Azam business park, Bahawalpur industrial zone and has transformed the Chunian industrial zone into an Aqua business park. Work on the net metering and expansion project has also started in the Sundar industrial area and for the first time in the history of PIEDMC, the annual budget was approved before the start of the new fiscal year, as part of the Corporate social responsibility construction work on the medical trauma center and management training program has also been launched.

Nabil Hashmi said that on the instructions of Minister of Industry and Trade Aslam Iqbal, PIEDMC is facilitating business through one-stop-shop operations in its managed industrial zones. The index for the ease of doing business in these areas is one of the best in Pakistan. Manufacturers favor areas managed by PIEDMC for their activity. The board asked the management to complete the development work of the Quaid-e-Azam, Bahawalpur and Chunian Aqua Business Park on time.
